Director Studio (Live Cuts)

Direct and edit multi-cam video at the speed of a live television broadcast. Play your synchronized tracks and switch camera angles in real-time using direct clicks or keyboard hotkeys.

How it Works

Rather than slicing clips frame-by-frame on a complex track layout, Director Studio allows you to record cuts active-playback style.

1. Real-Time Switch Register Buffer

As you play back your multi-cam tracks, the Director switcher active monitor registers key presses (`1-8`) or grid clicks. It records the active timestamp and maps it to a "Switch Program Log" array. VideoSync compiles this array instantly into contiguous clips slices, saving you hours of manual timeline slicing.

2. WebAssembly FFmpeg Muxer

Renders and exports do not rely on expensive external cloud rendering clusters. VideoSync packages a multi-threaded instance of WebAssembly-compiled **FFmpeg (FFmpeg.wasm)** and browser-native **WebCodecs**. It instructs the browser to parse local file stream blocks directly, stitch cuts together, and output the final video track.

3. Lossless Fast Stream-Copy (Superfast Mode)

When exporting under matching container codecs, VideoSync bypasses the computationally expensive video *re-encoding* step. It operates in **Lossless Stream-Copy Mode**, transferring compressed video packages straight to the output file, resulting in professional-grade high-fidelity cuts compiled in seconds.

How to Use It

Follow these steps to direct and switch your multi-angle footage live:

Load Aligned Feeds

Ensure your camera tracks have been synced inside the general dashboard first. Then open the **Director Studio** workspace. Your videos will automatically load inside a 4-quadrant live-monitoring grid.

Initiate Playback & Live Switch

Press **Spacebar** or click the play button to start global playback. As the timeline plays, tap numbers **1 to 8** on your keyboard (or click directly on a camera preview quadrant) to switch the active camera view.

Monitor Live Switch Logs

Watch your cuts map instantly inside the **Director Logs** timeline sidebar. If you make a mistake, click standard **Cmd/Ctrl + Z** to Undo the last cut segment and resume play cleanly.

Select Codec & Compile

Click **"Export Final Cut"** to toggle the compiler drawer. Select your desired container format (e.g. `.mp4`, `.mkv`), check **"Superfast Mode"** for lossless copying, and click **"Trigger Render"** to compile cuts.
